At Faringdon Baptist we have a Junior Church for children and young people that meets weekly from 11am.

We have 4 age - related groups:

In COGs we look at the people and stories in the bible.  We play games, make things, colour in drawings and have lots of fun.  We try to see if the things we do in our lives now, are anything like those things that happened in the bible stories.   Sometimes we try to think what it would have been like to be a boy or girl living at the time the bible stories were written.

Andrew Jenkins, COGs Leader

COGS - school years 1-3
CCK - school years 4-6

We like CCK because you learn about God and play many games. You do loads of fun activities like making hats, colouring, reading out of the bible and doing crafty things. CCK is always interesting and you have the opportunity to ask questions about Jesus and the Bible.

Our leaders are Dominic, Stephen and Louise. Our helpers are Elaine, Stan, Brenda S, Julie and Brenda L. They are really nice and kind.

Rock Solid 2 is a pretty sweet way of having a great time and learning too. There’s usually about 10 of us. We play games, make stuff, talk and do a bit of bible reading and prayer. Each week we look at a different subject, from some amazing guy in the bible, to an everyday issue. It’s always great fun.

Rock Solid 2 - school years 7-9
Bridge - school years 10-11

Bridge meets every two weeks and, on the weeks we don't meet, we stay in church for the sermon. The whole idea is that it is a "bridge" to becoming adult members of the church and the last stage of junior church. It also helps us find our role in the church. Bridge has a laid back, friendly atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to join in. We have discussions and often challenge each other's views which helps give us a broader mind on Christianity. I enjoy bridge because of the laughs we have and because I normally leave with a new thought or view that I had not considered before that I can attempt to put into action during the week.
