Faringdon Baptist Church

Welcome!

At Faringdon Baptist Church we are united by our love of Jesus Christ, a desire to share the Gospel, care for one another, and by service to the wider community.

 Sunday service

We hold an informal service of worship every Sunday morning, with a Junior Church for school children, and a creche.

On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate communion.

Then on the third Sunday there is an all-age service where we meet as a whole church family, with lots of interaction.

For us church is the people, not the place or the service, so there are lots of other opportunities to meet with those people during the week. Scroll down to find out more.

If you have never been to a service at church, and don't really know what to expect:

Typically, the service will involve some songs and prayers, which you are free to join in with if you wish, one or two readings from the Bible, read from the front, and some thoughts shared about a spiritual or practical aspect of our lives (this might be one person speaking, or a topic for discussion). Sometimes we have crafty things to do. This will last between an hour and an hour and twenty minutes. Afterwards we then have coffee/tea/squash and biscuits together, to chat with old friends and to get to know new ones. All told, unless we are having lunch together, we start at 10.30, and the refreshments are usually over by 12.30.

Youth ClubYOUTH CLUB: MONTHLY, FIRST FRIDAY 7 PM
Youth Club is a monthly Youth Night on the first Friday of every month from 7-9pm here at Faringdon Baptist Church Hall, open to all young people in secondary school!
It is a night of activities, games, socializing, and a reflection. We always have plenty of snacks, pop, and juice to have during the evening and often have pizza or something warm!
Come along to hang out, make friends, and relax someplace new!!

Growth Groups

GROWTH GROUPS: FOR FRIENDSHIP AND BIBLE STUDY                                      You are warmly invited to participate in an FBC Growth Group, which take place in people’s homes within the local area and online. You will have the opportunity to study the Bible, learn more about following Jesus, for prayer, and to further develop your friendship with folk from the church family. Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits also feature highly!                                                                                                                           The groups meet weekly or fortnightly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, in Faringdon, Grove and Shrivenham. If you are interested in taking part in a group, please call Mark Greenwood on 07393 574141.

Messy Families

MESSY FAMILIES: MONTHLY, FIRST SATURDAY 10-12 AM
Messy Families is for primary school children and their parents, grandparents or other carers. We provide coffee/tea and bacon sandwiches for the parents and squash and chocolate brioche for the children. Two bouncy castles, ball pits and crafts keep the children amused whilst we also provide newspapers and magazines for the adults. The aim is to build relationships in the community, between the adults, with the children, and between the children. We regularly have about 20 families attend, occasionally more.
